Self-Serving Sacrifice

Self-Serving Sacrifice

A call to genuine compassion and selfless action, embodying the essence of God's love and sacrifice.

John 3:16-17

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

Jesus knew what sacrifice was. He came to this world to give of himself so that others could have life. He knew that we were in need of help. He knew that we were lost without Him and His love.

In the Word of God, there is much truth, much guidance, and much about God.

But you can still know the Bible and be lost, you can still know the Bible and not know God. Does that mean that the Bible is bad? No by no means is the word of God bad. There are many that act as if they know the Word but do not know God.

What good is the Bible if we do not understand it? What good is the Bible if we miss its purpose of connecting us with Jesus? The Bible is there so that we can see God’s Love, its there so that we can learn from God’s example to love Him. Its there so that we can know God for who He really is.

Matthew 25:33-45

“Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. ‘For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ “Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink?  ‘And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You?  ‘When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ “The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’ “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;  for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink;   I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’  “Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not 1take care of You?’  “Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’

Will you be one who helped the least of your brothers?

The beautify in this passage is that these people didn’t even know that they were helping God, they did it out of compassion for others.

Do you have that kind of compassion? Or is your compassion self-serving?
