Disciples Make Disciples: Moving from Programs to People

Jesus’ final command in Matthew 28:18-20 is clear: “Go and make disciples of all nations.” Discipleship isn’t a solo journey—it’s about pouring into others, building relationships, and modeling what it means to follow Jesus. At Pursuit Worship, we’re shifting from focusing on programs to prioritizing people. Discipleship happens in relationships, not routines.

Discipleship in Community

Acts 2:42-47 paints a beautiful picture of true community. The early church devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, and prayer. They shared meals and resources, worshiped together, and supported one another. This wasn’t just “doing church” but being the church.

This is the kind of community we’re called to create—one where relationships matter more than programs. What would it look like if we truly lived this out?

From Attending to Action

Too often, church becomes about what we can get rather than what we can give. But as JFK famously said, “Ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country.” Let’s reframe that: “Don’t ask what the church can do for me, but what I can do for God.”

Our mission: Pursuing God and Making disciples is about personal growth in Christ and Making disciples. This requires intentionality and a willingness to step out of our comfort zones.

Moving Forward Together

Discipleship is a journey, not a destination. It’s about progress, not perfection. At Pursuit Worship, we’re starting something new—a weekly gathering to dive deeper into what it means to live as disciples. This is where transformation happens. - Email us if you want to know more or join us on Tuesday nights at 7 PM at the church.

We have an incredible opportunity to live out the Great Commission. Are you ready to move from attending church to being the church? Let’s commit to being disciples and making disciples—together.

Reflect on this: What can I do this week to pursue God and pour into others?
